Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,-

52:18
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire.

52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ

"But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind.

76:11
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا

But Allah will deliver them from the evil of that Day, and will shed over them a Light of Beauty and (blissful) Joy.

8.1.1

In the conventional language of the law: he guarded himself very carefully from sin, whether of commission or of omission, or from what would harm him in the world to come. Bd describes three degrees.

It may often be rendered: he was pious, or careful of his religious duties.

He preserved, or guarded, himself exceedingly, or extraordinarily: (Ksh, Bd in ii. 1:) he put a thing between him and another to preserve him, or guard him. (Ham, p. 359.)
