1.1he glanced at him or it, he took a light, slight look at him or it—لَمَحَ إِلَيْهِ
maṣdar لَمْحٌ and المح, or المحهُ and التمحهُ.
Like لَمَأَهُ: he snatched a sight of him or it unawares.
Or, according to some, لَمَحَ means he looked, and المحهُ he made him look; but the first explanation is the more correct.
Or لَمَحَ is said only of one looking from a distance.
