He uncovered it, unveiled it, laid it open, exposed it to view, revealed it, disclosed it.

كَشَفَ عَنْهُ has the same meaning.

7:135
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَـٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

But every time We removed the penalty from them according to a fixed term which they had to fulfil,- Behold! they broke their word!

16:54
ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord-

43:50
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

But when We removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word.

44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ

(They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"

68:42
يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

The Day that the shin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able,-

Synonym of the maṣdar مُجَاهَرَةٌ.

He, or it, appeared to him; and so كَاشَفَ عَلَيْهِ, synonym of ظهر له.

3.1.1he became acquainted with, or got knowledge of, what I concealedكُوشِفَ بِمَا أَخْفَيْتُ

Synonym of إِطَّلَعَ عَلَيْهِ.

3.1.2showing open enmity, or hostility, with anyoneمُكَاشَفَةٌ

[That is, كَاشَفَهُ alone, or] كاشفه بِالعَدَاوَةِ means he showed open enmity, or hostility, with him; and so does كاشفه العَدَاوَةَ.

, inf. n. مُكَاشَفَةٌ , [He acted openly with him, or towards him;] syn. of the inf. n. مُجَاهَرَةٌ . (Har, p. 470.) He, or it, appeared to him; as also كَاشَفَ عَلَيْهِ ; syn. ظهر له . Like كَشِفُوا; the former is the quasi-passive of كَشَفَ, “he routed”, etc.
