1.1.1he investigated it, examined it, inquired into it—كَشَفَ عَنْهُ

كَشَفَ عَنْهُ has the same meaning.

1.1.3he removed, took off, or stripped off, a thing from over something it covered or hid—كَشَفَ شَيْأً عَنْ شَىْءٍ

1.1.4he removed, cleared away, or dispelled, grief or sorrow—كَشَفَ

7:135

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ هُم بَـٰلِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

But every time We removed the penalty from them according to a fixed term which they had to fulfil,- Behold! they broke their word!

16:54

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ

Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord-

43:50

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

But when We removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word.

44:12

رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ

(They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!"

68:42

يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

The Day that the shin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able,-

He uncovered it; unveiled it; laid it open; displayed it; exposed it to view; discovered it; detected it; revealed it; disclosed it. كَشَفَ عَنْهُ He investigated, explored, or scrutinized, it; searched, examined, or inquired, into it. كَشَفَهُ He removed it; namely, a cover, or covering, or the like: and he uncovered it, laid it open, &c.; as also كَشَفَ عَنْهُ . كَشَفَ شَيْأً عَنْ شَىْءٍ He removed, put off, took off, or stripped off, a thing from over, or from before, a thing which it covered or concealed. (K.) كَشَفَ He removed, cleared away, or dispelled, grief, or sorrow: see فَرَجَ (of which it is an explanation in the Msb and K). See 7.

Synonym of the maṣdar مُجَاهَرَةٌ.

He, or it, appeared to him; and so كَاشَفَ عَلَيْهِ, synonym of ظهر له.

3.1.1he became acquainted with, or got knowledge of, what I concealed—كُوشِفَ بِمَا أَخْفَيْتُ

Synonym of إِطَّلَعَ عَلَيْهِ.

3.1.2showing open enmity, or hostility, with anyone—مُكَاشَفَةٌ

[That is, كَاشَفَهُ alone, or] كاشفه بِالعَدَاوَةِ means he showed open enmity, or hostility, with him; and so does كاشفه العَدَاوَةَ.

, inf. n. مُكَاشَفَةٌ , [He acted openly with him, or towards him;] syn. of the inf. n. مُجَاهَرَةٌ . (Har, p. 470.) He, or it, appeared to him; as also كَاشَفَ عَلَيْهِ ; syn. ظهر له .
