maṣdarكَرَاهَةٌ

Core sense — he disliked it, he disapproved of it, he hated itgenerated

1.1[he disliked him or it, was displeased with him or it, disapproved of him or it, hated him or it]—الكَرَاهَةُ

The opposite of الإِرَادَةُ and الرِّضَى.

Maṣdar كَرَاهَةٌ and كَرَاهِيَةٌ, or كُرْهٌ and كَرْهٌ.

The opposite of حَبَّهُ.

That He might justify Truth and prove Falsehood false, distasteful though it be to those in guilt.

10:82

وَيُحِقُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَـٰتِهٖ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

"And Allah by His words doth prove and establish His truth, however much the sinners may hate it!"

40:14

فَٱدْعُوا ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

Call ye, then, upon Allah with sincere devotion to Him, even though the Unbelievers may detest it.

[He disliked, was displeased with, disapproved of, hated, him or it.] الكَرَاهَةُ is the contr. of الإِرَادَةُ and الرِّضَى . (Marg. note in TA.) كَرِهَهُ (Mgh, Msb), inf. n. كَرَاهَةٌ and كَرَاهِيَةٌ , (Mgh,) or كُرْهٌ and كَرْهٌ , (Msb,) He did not desire it; he disapproved it, or was displeased or discontented with it; (Mgh;) he disliked it; disapproved it; hated it; contr. of حَبَّهُ . (Msb.) كَرِهَ and تَكَرَّهَ : see سَخِطَ .

تَكَارَهَ عَليْهِ has the same meaning; see قَنَحَ.
