maṣdarقَيْضٌ
Core sense — he clave, or broke asunder, a thing; it became cleft; he likened it to somethinggenerated
1.1he (a young bird) broke open the egg; or he (a bird) broke the egg open from over the young one—قَاضَ البَيْضَةَ
He clave, or broke or rent asunder; muḍāriʿ يَقِيضَ.
[And when it shall be thus, this lowest heaven] shall be rent asunder from over its inhabitants—فَإِذَا كَانَ كَذٰلِكَ قِيضَتْ هٰذِهِ السَّمَآءُ الدُّنُبَا عَنْ أَهْلِهَا
Said in a tradition about the day of resurrection. The inhabitants meant are the inhabitants of the earth, mentioned earlier in the tradition. Or, as Sh says, it shall be dissolved.

, (A, TA,) [aor, يَقِيضَ ,] inf. n. قَيْضٌ , (K,) He clave, or broke or rent asunder. (A, * K, TA.) You say, قَاضَ البَيْضَةَ He (a young bird) clave, or broke asunder, the egg: and he (a bird) clave, or broke asunder, the egg from over the young one. (Lth, A, * TA.)
