He fried wheat; that is, he roasted it in a مَقْلَى [or frying-pan or roasting-pan].
قَلَى, with يَقْلَى as its muḍāriʿ: see أَبَى.
هُوَ يَقْلُو البُرَّ: see بَرَى.
شَوَى has the same meaning.
Also المِقْلاَةِ, meaning شَوَاهُ [i. e. he parched, or roasted, the wheat with the مقلى].
The muḍāriʿ is يَقْلِى and يَقْلُو; the maṣdar is قَلْىٌ and قَلْوٌ.
Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased.
