Or it means, or also means, a species of trefoil, or clover: the same as رَطْبَةٌ, which is the same as فِصْفِصَة or قَتٌّ, the name by which the people of Mekkeh call قَتّ, and called in Persian إِسْفِسْت or إِسْبِسْت.

AHn says that قضب [according to the L and TA apparently قَضْبٌ, but according to a copy of the M قَضَبٌ, which I think a mistranscription] is the name of certain trees of the plains, or soft tracts, growing among clumps of other trees; with leaves like those of the pear-tree, only thinner and softer; and as trees resembling pear-trees.

The camels feed on its leaves and the tips of its branches; but when a camel has had its fill of it, it leaves it for a time, for it sets its teeth on edge, irritates its chest, and gives it a cough.
