The headword is an ism jamʿ, and this the ism waḥda.

Lth is wrong in saying that it means a huntsman, or hunter; it means a plant, as IAar, AHn and others have said.

A sour plant of the kind called نَجِيل, like the جُمَّة [or full and long hair of the head] of a man; it becomes tall and large, camels are greedily fond of it, and it fattens them and makes them plentiful in milk.

(S, TA) and قَسْوَرَةٌ , (K, TA,) the former a coll. gen. n., and the latter the n. un., (M,) A certain plant, (S, M, K,) which grows in plain, or soft, land; (M, K;) a sour plant, of the kind called نَجِيل , which is like the جُمَّة [or full and long hair of the head] of a man, and becomes tall and large, of which camels are greedily fond, (AHn, M,) and which fattens them, and makes them plentiful in milk. So in the Qur'ān 74:51. Or it has here the meaning that follows next.

Hunters that shoot, or cast; singular قَسْوَرٌ, according to Lth.

[And in the M it is said that قَسْوَرٌ means a shooter, or caster: or, according to some, a hunter:] but this is a mistake, for قسورة is a collective noun having no singular.

Fr says that in the verse of the Qur'ān cited above it means shooters, or casters of missile weapons.

It is also related of ʿIkrimeh that it was said to him that قسورة means a lion in the Abyssinian language; but he said that its meaning is the one given above on Fr's authority, and that the lion in the Abyssinian language is called عَنْبَسَة.

Ibn-ʿArafeh says that قسورة is of the measure فَعْوَلَةٌ from القَسْرُ, and that the meaning in the Qur'ān is: as though they were asses made to take fright and run away by shooting, hunting, and the like.
