Form 1غَاظَهُ1 sense
maṣdarغَيْظٌmuḍāriʿيَغِيظُ

Core sense — he angered him, he enraged himgenerated

1.1he, or it, angered him, or enraged himغيّظهُ

. He, or it, affected him with غَيْظ [or anger, wrath, or rage; that is, angered him, or enraged him].

IAar, Th and the K give this form; in one copy of the Msb it appears as تغيّظهُ, which is no doubt a miscopying.

Also غايظهُ and اغاظهُ, but this last is not common, or is not allowable. [See also غَيْظٌ below.]

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لْيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُ

If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages (him)!

see 8. سَمِعُوا لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا , in the Kur [xxv. 13] means They shall hear it to have a sound of boiling, (Zj, Bd, Jel,) like the boiling of the breast of an angry man. (Bd, * Jel.) تَغَيَّظَتِ الهَاجِرَةُ The midday, or summer-midday, became [ragingly or] vehemently hot. (K, TA.)

Anger, or wrath; synonym غَضَبٌ. Or rage, violent anger: it has a stronger meaning than غَضَبٌ.

Or the first is hidden anger and the second is open anger. Or the first affects a person who has no power to act on it, and the second a person who has that power. Or the first is hidden anger affecting one who has no power to act on it. Or it is the most violent anger, encompassing the liver, because of something disliked or hated, and sometimes for no reason at all. Or it is the outbreak and beginning of anger.

Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?"

Anger; wrath; syn. غَضَبٌ : (K) or [rage, or vehement anger; for] it has a more intensive signification than غَضَبٌ : (IDrd:) or the former is latent [anger]; and the latter is apparent: or the former is that which affects a person who has not power to exercise it; and the latter, that which affects a person who has power to exercise it: (TA:) or the former, latent anger affecting one who has not power to exercise it: (S:) or most vehement anger, (Msb, K,) encompassing the liver, by reason of some event that is disliked or hated, and sometimes by reason of nothing: (Msb:) or the outbreak, and commencement, of anger.
