Form 1غَاظَهُ1 sense
Core sense — he angered him, he enraged himgenerated
. He, or it, affected him with غَيْظ [or anger, wrath, or rage; that is, angered him, or enraged him].
IAar, Th and the K give this form; in one copy of the Msb it appears as تغيّظهُ, which is no doubt a miscopying.
Also غايظهُ and اغاظهُ, but this last is not common, or is not allowable. [See also غَيْظٌ below.]
If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages (him)!
Occurrences of this form in the Qur’ān, not Lane’s choice of verse. They show the word in use; they do not say which sense above applies. Where more occur than are shown, the shortest āyāt are chosen.
