He was angry with him.; maṣdar غَضَبْ and مَغْضَبَةٌ.

he was angry for nothing, i.e. for no cause—غَضِبَ مِنْ لَاشَىْءٍ
لاشىء, in a case of this kind, is regarded as one word, and so is written as above, not لَا شَىْءِ; see p. 1626, third column.

Said when the person on whose account the anger is excited is living.
he was angry on his account—غَضِبَ بِهِ
Said when he is dead.
on this sense So says El-Umawee, and El-Ahmar says the like.

Abu-n-Nejm says: [She champs, sometimes, upon the bit, like the fierce burning of the fire upon the quickly-kindling fragments of firewood]
shāhidتَغْضَبُ أَحْيَانًا عَلَيا للِّجَامِكَغَضَبِ النَّارِ عَلَى الضِّرَامِ

It is like عُنِىَ, passive in form, and is the more usual of the two.

With fet-h and kesr, i.e. apparently غَضِبَتْ; or “with fet-h and kesr” may be a mistranscription for “with damm and kesr,” so that the verb may be غُضِبَتْ.

5:60
قُلْ هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُم بِشَرٍّ مِّن ذَٰلِكَ مَثُوبَةً عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ مَن لَّعَنَهُ ٱللَّهُ وَغَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْقِرَدَةَ وَٱلْخَنَازِيرَ وَعَبَدَ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضَلُّ عَن سَوَآءِ ٱلسَّبِيلِSay: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah? those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"
42:37
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا۟ هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَThose who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive;
58:14

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ قَوْمًا غَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَدْ يَئِسُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ كَمَا يَئِسَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْقُبُورِO ye who believe! Turn not (for friendship) to people on whom is the Wrath of Allah, of the Hereafter they are already in despair, just as the Unbelievers are in despair about those (buried) in graves.
