So in the S and K, and also in the A, the Mgh and the Msb in the article on عرج, where the ن is regarded as augmentative.
That is, of the عِذْق, or كِبَاسَة [which signifies the same as عِذْق], which curves, and from which the fruit-stalks are cut off, and which then remains on the palm-tree, dry.

In the Qurʾān 36:39 the moon, when it has become slender [in appearance, towards the end of the lunar month,] is likened to the old عُرْجُون; ISd says this is for its slenderness and curvature.
[In the TA, under سُبَاطَةٌ, the plural عَرَاجِينُ is strangely used as meaning the fruit-stalks of the raceme of a palm-tree.]
