The maṣdar of the first verb is إِعْتَادٌ; the maṣdar of the second is تَعْتِيدٌ.
The first verb occurs in the Qur'ān 12:31.
Yaakoob says that the ت in أَعْتَدْتُهُ is a substitute for the د in أَعْدَدْتُهُ. Some say that أَعَدَّ is originally أَعْتَدَ, but others deny this.

Or a طَبْل [or small round basket covered with leather] prepared for the perfume, and utensils, and substance for fumigation, and comb, and mirror, and other things required by a bride.
Or a thing like a casket, or small chest, in which a woman puts such of her goods, or utensils, as she values.
