She poured it on the mat, or cloth, called مَشَرّ or مِشَرّ — the first according to the O and one copy of the S, the second according to another copy of the S — so that the dry part might hold the moist and not let it pass through the مشرّ. This is from Aboo-Sá'id El-Kilábee.

he dried the اقط in the sun—عَبَثَ الأَقِطَ

Muḍāriʿ and maṣdar as above; or it means he mixed it with clarified butter. غَبَثَهُ, with غ, is a dialectal variant of it.

[Hence,] عَبَثَ , aor. as above, (K,) and so the inf. n., (S, O,) He made, or prepared, عَبِيثَة [q. v.]: (S, O, K:) or so عَبَثَ عَبِيثَةً ; as also أَعْبَثَهَا . (O.)
