Or صَفْدٌ, the same as صِفَادٌ, which means a rope, a thong, a shackle or fetter, or a [collar of iron which is put upon the neck or around the neck and hands together, such as is called] غُلّ, with which a person, or a captive, is made fast.

Plural أَصْفَادٌ, explained as meaning shackles, or fetters — the only known plural, though it has the form of a plural of paucity.
