1a thing with which one is adorned, or with which one adorns himself; any ornament, decoration, embellishment, or graceمَا يُتَزَيَّنُ بِهِ

The noun from زَانَهُ.

an ornament, adornment, or graceزِيانٌ
an ornament, adornment, or graceزَيْنٌ

It means the same as زِينَةٌ.

El-Harállee: زِينَةٌ denotes the means of beautifying, or embellishing, a thing by another thing, consisting of apparel, or an ornament of gold or silver or of jewels or gems, or aspect. Some say it is the beauty seen of the eye that does not reach to the interior of the thing adorned by it.

Er-Rāghib: its proper meaning is a thing that does not disgrace a man, or make him seem unseemly, in any of his states or conditions, either in the present world or in the world to come; but that which adorns him in one state or condition and not in another is in one respect شَيْنٌ. In sum it is of three kinds: mental, such as knowledge or science and good tenets; bodily, such as strength, tallness of stature, and beauty of aspect; and external, such as wealth, and rank or station or dignity. All of these are mentioned in the Kur.

The plural is زِيَنٌ.

the ornature, finery, show, pomp, or gaiety of the present life, or worldزِينَةُ الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا

Or simply زِينَةُ الدُّنْيَا; it particularly includes wealth and children (Kur 18:44).

It is also the day of the breaking of the dam a little within the entrance of the canal of Misr — here meaning the present capital of Egypt, El-Káhireh, which we call "Cairo" — the canal that runs through the middle of Misr, whose dam is broken when the Nile has reached the height of sixteen cubits or more. This day is said to be meant in Kur 20:61. It is one of the days kept in Egypt with the greatest gladness and rejoicing from ancient times, and its observance in the days of the Fátimees was such as is hard to imagine, as described in the "Khitat" of El-Makreezee. The modern observances of this day, and of other days relating to the rise of the Nile, are described in my work on the Modern Egyptians.

That is, العِيدُ, when men used, and still use, to adorn themselves with fine articles of apparel.

adorned, decorated, decked, embellished, or gracedمُزَّانٌ

مُزَيَّنٌ has the same meaning; and the headword also means self-adorned.

The diminutive of مُزْدَانٌ is مُزَيِّنٌ, like مُخَيِّرٌ, the diminutive of مُخْتَارٌ; and if you substitute for the د, مُزَيِّينٌ. In the same way, in forming the plural you say مَزَايِنُ and مَزَايِينُ.
