According to Az, الإِرْخَآءُ الأَعْلَى means the most violent [running termed] حُصْر, and الإِرْخَآءُ الأَدْنَى is less than that.
ارخى فِى عَدْوِهِ, said of a horse, means أَحْضَرَ [apparently: he rose in his running]; and it comes from رُخَآءٌ as an adjective applied to wind.
4.1.3he made his beast go the pace, or in the manner, explained above—ارخى دَابَّتَهُ
That is, the pace termed إِرْخَآء.
According to A 'Obeyd, الإِرْخَآءُ means leaving a horse to follow his own eager desire in running, without tiring him.
