It was, or became, in a state of commotion or agitation, or of violent motion; or it shook, quaked, or quivered..

تَرَجْرَجَ and رَجْرَجَ, mean the same, and so does رَجَّ; but for these verbs only the maṣdar is mentioned.

ارتجّ is quasi-passive of رَجَّهُ, and is said of the sea: it was in a state of commotion with its waves; and likewise of other things.

تَرَجْرَجَ means it (a thing) went to and fro; said of a woman's flesh, or particularly of her hinder part, or of both.

Said in a tradition about the blowing of the horn on the day of resurrection.
