Form 1ذَأَمَهُ1 sense
muḍāriʿـَيَفْعَلُذَأََmaṣdarذَأْمٌ

Core sense — he blamed him, he despised him, he drove him awaygenerated

1.1

.

He blamed him, or found fault with him; said of a man, or of a commodity. In the T it is said that ذَأَمْتُهُ in the sense of عِبْتُهُ is more common than ذَمَمْتُهُ, though the opposite seems clearly to be the case.

Also: he despised him, like ذَأَبَهُ; and he despised him and beat him; and he despised him and blamed him; or he despised him and drove him away, like ذَأَبَهُ; or simply he drove him away; or he drove him away and beat him, like ذَأَبَهُ, as given under ذأب.

Also: he repaid him, or requited him, جَزَاهُ; or he overcame him in abasing, خَزَاهُ. So in my MS. copy of the K and in the CK, but I have no doubt that جَزَاهُ is the right reading.
