The cheek: the part extending from the circuit of the eye to the part where the beard grows, on either side of the face.
Or from the outer angle of each eye to the end of the side of the mouth; or the part bordering on the nose, on either side; or each of the خَدَّانِ in the face.
Plural of the former خُدُودٌ; it has no other plural.

The former word is the singular of this. The two boards are the دَفَّتَانِ, of the vehicles termed هَوَادِج and غُبُط.
