Form 1خَتَرَتْ نَفْسُهُ2 senses
muḍāriʿـِيَفْعِلُ·ـُيَفْعُلُmaṣdarخَتْرٌ

Core sense — he acted treacherously towards him; his stomach became heavygenerated

His soul [or stomach] became heavy, or heaved with a tendency to vomit; synonym خَبُثَتْ. It became corrupt, or disordered.

Ibn-ʿArafeh: or with the foulest perfidy, treachery, or unfaithfulness; or with deceit, guile, or trickery; or in a bad, or corrupt, manner.

31:32
وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُم مَّوْجٌ كَٱلظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُم مُّقْتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ

When a wave covers them like the canopy (of clouds), they call to Allah, offering Him sincere devotion. But when He has delivered them safely to land, there are among them those that halt between (right and wrong). But none reject Our Signs except only a perfidious ungrateful (wretch)!
