muḍāriʿـِيَفْعِلُ·ـُيَفْعُلُيَجِلُّmaṣdarجَلَالَةٌ جَلٌّ
Core sense — he was, or became, great; he became old and sound in judgment; he emigratedgenerated
1.1to Him, or to Whom, belong might and majesty, or glory and greatness—عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ
maṣdar جَلَالَةٌ or جَلَالٌ (in the CK, wrongly, جُلالًا is put for جَلَالًا), or both; and also جُلَّى, for which see this word below, under جَلَلٌ.
In its primary sense: it was, or became, thick, gross, coarse, rough, rugged, rude, big, or bulky; and then, it (a thing), or he (a man), was, or became, great — said of a thing in size, and of a man in estimation, rank, or dignity.
Er-Rāghib: جَلَالَةٌ is greatness of estimation, rank, or dignity, but جَلَالٌ is supreme greatness of it.
This phrase, referring to the name of God expressed or understood, occurs very often.
The latter is an attribute of God only, except in a few instances; or it means the greatness, or majesty, of God, or his absolute independence.
Lane cites “Bd in lv. 27” — a commentary, not the verse; no modern number is given
1.1.1He is too great to be comprehended within limits—يَجِلپُ عَنِ الإِحَاطَةِ بِهِ
He is too great to be perceived by the senses—يَجِلُّ أَنْ يُدْرَكَ بِالحَوَاسِّ
on this sense Er-Rāghib: both are phrases used in speaking of God.

shāhidيَا جَلَّ مَا بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْكَ بِلَادُنَافَٱبْرُقْ بِأَرْضِكَ مَا بَدَا لَكَ وَٱرْعُدِ
