muḍāriʿـُيَفْعُلُmaṣdarجَذْوٌ جُذُوٌّ اِجْذِيذَآءٌ
Core sense — it stood firmly; he stood on the tips of his toes; he became erectgenerated
1.1it (a thing) stood firmly—اجذى
.
he, or it, remained firm upon a thing—جَذَا عَلَى شَىْءٍ
Said, for instance, of one of the three stones on which a cooking-pot is set.
the ticks stuck and clung to the side of the camel—جَذَا القُرَادُ فِى جَنْبِ البَعِير
they clung to the camel—جذا بِالجَمَلِ
1.1.1he sat upon his knees, and the like—جَثًا
اِجْذَوَى has the same meaning, in form like اِرْعَوَى, except that جذا indicates more strongly keeping to a place. Another explanation: he stood upon the extremities of his toes.
standing upon the extremities of the toes—جُذُوٌّ
sitting upon the knees—جُثُوٌّ
a man standing upon his feet—جَاذٍ
one sitting upon his knees—جَاثٍ
he stood upon the tips of his toes, warbled, and went round in his warbling—جَذَا
This is Th's account.
This is IAar's account.
El-Hasan Ibn-'AbdAllah El-Kátib El-Isbahánee: said of a bird, which does this only when seeking the female; said of a horse, he stood upon his toes; and likewise of a man, whether for dancing or for something else.

shāhidإِذَا شِئْتُ غَنَّتْنِى دَهَاقِينُ قَرْيَةٍوَصَنَّاجَةٌ تَجْذُو عَلَى حَرْفِ مَنْسِمِ
. In another version, عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْسِمِ [upon every toe].
1.1.2he, or it, became erect and straight—اِجْذَوْذَى
